I was fortunate enough to have both a mother and father who loved grammar
and a father who loved to twist almost everything I said in order to show
me ambiguity in grammar and semantics.

Patty,

    I always feel the same about teaching grammar as I do about poetry. 
We get to slow things down. Love is at the heart of it. If you pass that 
on, they learn for a lifetime.
