University of Tartu, and Institute of Baltic Studies

Call for Papers and Participation

If you are:
- involved in designing simulation and gaming, role playing and
  educational games
- using simulation/gaming in your work
- researching theoretical foundation of simulation/gaming
- interested in enriching your arsenal with simulation/gaming as a
  tool
we invite you to participate in ISAGA 2000 annual conference.

The Venue

Tartu is situated in South Estonia and with its 100 000 inhabitants it is
the second-largest city in the country. Tartu is famous for its old
university, established in 1632. Almost every aspect of life in Tartu is
connected to the university. The conference will take place in the very
centre of Tartu, no more than 50 footsteps from the main building of the
university and Town Hall.

Presentations

We are looking forward to interesting presentations (45 minutes including
questions and discussion) and demonstrations (up to 2 hours) on the
abovementioned topics.

For presenting the outcomes of concrete projects or games, you are welcome
to use poster format. There will be prizes for best posters by young
professionals!

Pre-conference workshops

We invite you to participate in two pre-conference workshops led by
outstanding simulation and gaming professionals: Elyssebeth Leigh (Faculty
of Education, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia) and Dmitri
Kavtaradze (Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University, Russia).

Conference Participation fee:

Before 15 April 02000:

400 euros for members
425 euros for non-menbers
250 euros for students

After 15 April 02000:

450 euros for members
475 euros for non-members
300 euros for students

One-day participation: 100 euros

Registration fee includes conference materials, meals and social events.
