	First, I owe Tim Hadley and all of you an apology: I was supposed to write a brief piece for ATEG Journal on the Connecticut trip many of you will soon be making. My schedule during this past year was so full that I never had time to do it (new job, new school, new curriculum, and two productions contributed to the situation). The deadline came and went before I realized that I had neglected my duty! 

	

	In recompense, if any of you have any questions about travel, dining, or other nitty-gritty details about Fairfield County, please drop me a note and I'll get back to you as soon as I can ... this time without such a long delay.

	 

	Tim, I hope you can forgive my laxness!

	 

	Second, I will not be able to attend the conference! This is paradoxical since this is the first conference in my home state; however, I am in rehearsal for Twelfth Night (Sir Toby Belch) and will be tied up during the conference. Ironically, the production is happening at Fairfield Univ. in August, so even though I can't attend the conference, I'll be nearby rehearsing.  If I can get away for any meaningful length of time, I'd love to stop by and kibitz (if you'll let me!).  If you're planning to hang around long enough or are coming back to CT in August, please consider attending a performance. We plan to be wonderful! 	Dear ATEGers all,

	

	I hope you're making every effort to attend the ATEG conference--at 

	Fairfield University in Connecticut, coming up in just two 

	weeks--July 14 and 15.  (The minicourse meets July 12-13.)  It would 

	be very special to meet those of you who so far are only names on 

	postings, to have faces to go with those familiar names.  Those of us 

	who call ourselves ATEG regulars always look forward to seeing old 

	friends.  But believe me when I say that  it takes no time at all for 

	ATEG newcomers to feel like old friends, too.

	

	And you might give some thought to a New England vacation as long as 

	you're in the area.  (Jack and I are going to head up to Maine 

	afterwards.)

	

	For those of you who have already made the decision to attend and 

	haven't yet sent in your registration, please do so ASAP. The mail-in 

	form is on the ATEG website (www.ateg.org <http://www.ateg.org/> ).   You can also register 

	on-site--but it  will help Amy to have fairly accurate attendance 

	numbers in her planning for lunches and rooms, so it helps to let her 

	know you'll be there.
