Martha,

   These are not only delightfully selected, but analyzed and 
highlighted, ready for class dissemination and discussion. Many thanks.
   This is a very clear demonstration that any view of the sentence that 
treats sentences in isolation distorts and trivializes language. grammar 
cannot and will not carry over into writing unless we make the explicit 
connections, and material like this is ready made for that purpose.
