Hi!

Some problems with sentences using too and enough:

1. His car is so big that Maisie can't drive it.
His car is too big for Maisie to drive.

(I don't know if the sentence should be finished with "to")

2. This problem is so difficult that I can't explain it.
This problem is too difficult to be explained.

(I wonder if it would be better to do this one as:
"This problem is too difficult to explain."
)

3. The turkey was so big that mother couldn't put it in the oven.
The turkey was too big for that mother to put in the oven.

(I wonder if I did this sentence well, and if this could be done as:
"The turkey was too big to put in the oven"
or
"The turkey was too big to be put in the oven"

I don't know if all of them are Ok.)

4. Maisie is so tall I can't kiss her without standing on a chair.
Maisie is too tall to kiss without standing on a chair.

(I wonder if it could be done as:
"Maisie is too tall to be kissed without standing on a chair."
and if so, which of the two is preferable)

5. That tea-cup is so badly broken that it can't be mended.
That tea-cup is too badly broken to be mended.

(Could it be done as:
"That tea-cup is too badly broken to mend."
?)

6. You don't eat much; that amount wouldn't keep a sparrow alive.
You don't eat much enough to keep a sparrow alive.

(I wonder if "much" could be omited, and if the sentence I did changed
the original sense)

7. There is not much beer, so you can't all have a drink.
There is not enough beer for you all to have a drink.

(I don't feel sure about the part "for you all...")

8. He's not very good so that I can't marry him.
He's not good enough to marry.

(I wonder if the last part of the sentence should be in passive voice,
and if
the sentence I did should finish with "him")

That's all folks! :)

Thanx in advance!
