Help!  I'm confused--or maybe I just read the test questions too quickly.  What was wrong
with their semicolon answers?

When I train, I always teach semicolons, and the participants are delighted to learn how to
use that sophisticated mark of punctuation correctly after struggling when and when not to
for years.  I've talked with corporate Human Resources folks who tell me that all qualities
being equal, they will schedule an interview with a candidate who did use a semicolon
correctly in a cover letter over one who didn't use one at all.

Aren't the nuances of punctuation fascinating?
