In a message dated 4/6/2001 1:51:48 PM Pacific Daylight Time,

speech? >>

Anyone know where I would go to locate information of this type? Ed Vavra
once posted something to the effect that children can't usually pick out
introductory clauses in writing until about seventh grade (as differentiated
from using them in speech).

I need more information of this type for a discussion at my school. Anyone
have titles or authors for me?

Thanks so much,
Gretchen in San Jose
