Thanks, Reinhold, but of course I'm aware that adjectives take agreement
markers. I meant that in their unmarked or base forms they are the same.

Der Koffer ist _schwer_.  The suitcase is heavy.
Er trägt _schwer_.  It is heavy to carry?? It is hard to carry??

Er kommt mir _freundlich_ vor.  He seems friendly to me.
Er hat mich _freundlich_ begrüsst.  He greeted me in a friendly way.

Isn't this right?
