I think I have posted this before, but I will post it again in view of the
request for grammar-teaching tips.
 
I recommend examining and selecting lessons from a book called _Writing
Step by Step_ by Robert de Beugrande, HBJ 1985 ISBN0-15-598258-3. It is a
very simply written book, and uses the students' own knowledge of English
to teach them grammar. It is out of print, though, and you may only be
able to get hold of it through your library or through interlibrary loan.
If you get a library copy, be careful of missing pages -- the book has
perforated left margins for easy tear-out of exercise pages, and library
copies often are missing a substantial number (I got one that was missing
100 pages!!)
 
I don't think it's a perfect book -- it does into too much detail in some
places -- that's why I recommend selecting lessons that you think would
work in your classes.
