Patty,
   Exactly. We need to take an official position on this; it doesn't make
sense to advocate grammar instruction and not advocate that teachers be
trained to carry it out. We also need to reach out to teachers in the
field who would like to know more. If that's what we mean by
certification, preparing teachers to teach the grammar knowledge that
we advocate as useful and important, I would be happy to support it.
