I'd like to quickly respond to Ed Vavra's request to quote
from my post by saying that anyone can quote anything I say
on this list. Thanks for your respectful comments, Ed. I wanted
to respond to Martha Kolln's comment on my post, but I've been too
busy--our semester is closing down. Much of my concern does indeed
have to do with what we try to teach to whom, as Ed suggests.
