Hello, everyone. My name's Alison Sharpe and I've recently been appointed
Commissioning Editor for ELT grammar materials at Cambridge University
Press UK and was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting
involved in the publishing process. This could be in different ways.
Pre-contract proposals are assessed and reported on by external advisors,
as are complete draft scripts before the author revises. We also ask
teachers to pilot all or some or the material from a forthcoming book to
check everything is classroom-friendly. (We pay a modest honorarium for
these activities.) And, of course, we are always looking for potential
authors. (Here, we deal mostly with British English, by the way.)
If you are interested in assisting CUP in developing grammar materials,
please contact me, telling me about your interests, experience, and current
teaching situation. I would very much like to hear from you.
Best wishes
Alison
