Hello.  You may recall my colleague, Dave Povinsky, sending
announcements to you last year regarding scholarship opportunities
and online TESOL certificate & degree programs through Newport Asia
Pacific University.  This is a just a short announcement regarding
online courses and residential sessions being offered next term.

FYI,  there are now approximately three or four scholarships
available per course offered from May 17th, 1999 to July 11th.  The
following is a schedule for online certificate courses in "Classroom
Management and Observation", "Curriculum Devlopment" and "Research
Methods in Language Learning".  Please note that the certificate
course in "Classroom Management and Observation" is conducted online
during the eight week course.  The certificate courses in "Curriculum
Development" and "Research Methods in Language Learning" are
conducted online with an additional intensive four-day residency
requirement in Tokyo, Japan from Thursday, July 1st to Sunday, July
4th, 1999.  Professors David Nunan, Rod Ellis and Ruth Wajnryb will
be teaching the online classes, as well as the "face-to-face" classes
in Tokyo.

Curriculum Development  Wed 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.


Classroom Management    Sat 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
