Language Log, which is one of the major linguistics blogs (well, major for linguistics), has recently posted a couple of entries by Richard Hudson about grammar-teaching reforms in Britain. The first (http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=9431 ) discusses sentence diagramming, while the second (http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=10047#comments ) briefly discusses some of the background. I thought readers of the list might find the posts (and their comment threads) interesting.

Sincerely,

Bill Spruiell
