Thanks, Ed, for your kind words, and also for your thoughtful analysis of the articles and other issues pertaining to our journal, our organization, and our mission in general.

Amy Benjamin deserves credit for the idea to send this issue of the journal to everyone on our mailing list, even if their membership in ATEG was not current. We have about 250-300 current ATEG members, but we mailed out about 650 copies of this issue--partly as "advertising" and partly hoping that some who have allowed their participation to lapse will renew both their membership and their involvement in ATEG.

We are beginning to receive more submissions of good articles to publish, and I got a good response to my call for volunteers to serve on the Editorial Board, so those people (I will publish the list shortly) will soon be busy refereeing articles for upcoming issues. This is an encouraging sign about the future.

I agree with Craig's comment about the value of discussing the articles and other journal items on our listserv. Even if one disagrees with something, such discourse, as long as it is conducted in a positive, polite, and gracious way, is healthy and productive. And readers are always welcome, of course, to contact an author directly with questions they may have about the writer's article.

Subject: Thank You, Tim. -- Observations on the Fall issue

 Dear Tim,
First of all, I want to thank you for your kind words in the latest issue of ATEG Journal. I appreciate the thought, and I wish you well. You have convinced me to do something that I said I never would -- to pay for the publication. (My dues are in the mail.) The articles in this issue are interesting, even if they are somewhat disappointing.
