I'm not too sure what two books you should put on your reading list for
your grammar course for graduate students, but I sure am glad you're
offering it. We get so many applicants for teaching positions here who
have Ph.D.'s with very fancy-sounding dissertations but who have not
knowledge on which to base the kind of language and grammar instruction we
are finding more and more necessary.
As for future reading lists for you and your students, you can gather all
sorts of information by coming to ATEG's tenth annual conference next year
in Seattle. It will be July 17 and 18, and I am the contact person for
information. Paper or presentation submissions may be sent to Martha
Killn at 3638 Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
