Actually, I think the problem is not the rest of the world, but the US.
Ring seemed to have a pretty good success in Europe - I know I had a friend
who spent the summer in Italy and when she came back I mentioned the
Connells and she was so sick of hearing about them because they played
74-75 to *death* on the radio there. But the two times I've seen the
Connells (both outside prime Connells territory, I know) - Detroit (a big
city) and State College,PA (a big college town) - there were fewer people
there than I expected. Detroit was literally like 50 people. If that.

Anyway, so it's not personal. It's really great that you're on the list.
There's another list I'm on where a rep from the label spends time and it's
usually really cool having them on there to keep us up to date. But I
agree, the publicity could stand to be intensified a notch.

Case: info about the State College show - I just called (Friday 9:30 am)
WQWK to see what order the bands would be - they knew Velveeta (local band)
would be first, Solution AD would be *last*, but the times of the other
bands hadn't been decided yet. Hello? There is no way the Connells should
not be last, but since they never get played on the radio here, either by
the station sponsoring this show (album rock) or by the local alternative
station, or by the college stations, people don't have enough knowledge of
them and the demand is low and they don't get to headline. And when I was
going to buy the album, I went in to the store a few days early and the
Connells weren't on the upcoming release board, so I asked, and they looked
and lo and behold, they were listed for August 20. Nobody would have
noticed if I hadn't pointed it out to them. And none of the other record
stores in town had them listed on their new release boards. All I know is
that whoever is in charge of making sure the Connells get a fair listen
doesn't seem to be getting the word out.

Sarah
