*THIS IS NOT A FLAME!* *THIS IS NOT A FLAME!* (If it sounds like one, I didn't
mean it!!!)

This post is in response to Glenn's post about meeting the band-

The guys in the band may have seemed really down to earth. They
probably are. But that does not mean that they don't put a lot of thought and
meaning into their lyrics. Just by getting to know them will not show you if
they put thought behind the lyrics or not- know what I mean? I met Del Amitri,
and spent over 2 hours with them just two weekends ago when they played in San
Francisco. My sister and I were the only non-band or stage crew members there,
and we talked a long time with them. By getting to know them, its not obvious
if they put a lot of thought into the lyrics or not (they too, were completly
down to earth genuinly nice guys!). The thing is, Del Amitri has the more
meaningful lyrics then most of the groups I listen to. (and yes, I realize
that analyzing lyrics can sometimes ruin a song... especially when you
interpret it the wrong way!) :). Unless you specifically asked them about a
certian song, how in the world do you know if they have any 'deep meaning' to
their songs or not, just by having a few drinks and talking with them?
Well, I may be wrong in this entire post, and you may have asked them
about a certain song or songs, but in the post it sounded like you just talked
with them, and generalized that because they were normal everyday guys, they
don't put meaning behind their lyrics.
(PLEASE dont take this as a flame!)
