Identity Transformed and Transgressed: An Interdisciplinary Dialogue
This multidisciplinary session will address the understanding of individual
and collective identity through the lens of sociological, psychological,
theatrical and graphic design studies. Together, these branches of learning
explore the influence of identity on society as a whole and the social
constructs that help define our understanding of identity.

Dr. Yvette R. Harris, Associate Professor, Miami University Department of
Psychology, will discuss issues related to identity and the developmental
needs of African American children. This lecture will also focus on Dr.
Harris¹ recent publication, ³The African American Child Development and
Challenges.² A book signing will follow the lecture. Sponsored in
conjunction with Black History Month.
