I'm delighted to have a way to communicate with a regular basis with
others interested in management development topics. My name is Pat
Stocker. I'm Associate Dean and Director of Executive Programs for the
College of Business and Management at the University of Maryland. I
previously served on the marketing faculty at the University of Maryland
as well as at Georgetown University and the University of Denver. My
Ph.D. is from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

We are a small office - revenues about $2 million a year. Over 90% of our
work is in customized programs for clients of all sizes. Our largest
clients are Marriott International (and Host Marriott) and Martin
Marietta, although we do work for many other organizations (Black &
Decker, Fannie Mae, Safeway, American Gas Association, etc.). I like to
think that we are best at listening to our clients (we prefer to use the
term "partner") and providing programs which genuinely meet their needs.

I would particularly welcome insights from my colleagues about your
efforts with customized programs. I'm presenting a session at Innisbrook
this fall in which I'll share my "learnings" on the subject. Any ideas???

I look forward to a continuing conversation.
