FORUM - Empire State College

CALL FOR PAPERS -- Management Development Forum (MDF)

Special Issue: HR Strategies and Corporate Downsizing!
The focus of our next issue will be corporate downsizing, transition
management, redeployment, and continuous learning. We welcome
articles on the redesign of the HR function to meet the challenges of
downsizing, and best practices to improve organizational efficiency and
effectiveness in the face of downsizing.

MDF is published three times a year by the FORUM program at SUNY-
Empire State College. This publication is distributed to human resource
professionals, trainers, and consultants
engaged in management development and education.
The objective of this journal is to stimulate innovative thinking, share
new developments and ideas, and report on new techniques and
intervention programs relevant to managers. MDF serves as a pool for
new theory and practical knowledge that will support human resource
professionals seeking to enhance management training, education, and
development in their organizations.

The ideal submission is 1,000 to 4,000 words. The body of the article
should flow logically and smoothly. Avoid jargon and technical terms.
MDF's style and tone are journalistic rather than academic, and it is important
that you balance practical information with its theoretical underpinnings.
No reference is needed for ideas paraphrased rather than quoted, or for widely
known information, such as the fact that downsizing is a strategy used
by many large scale organizations. When references are necessary,
incorporate them into the text. Remember that our audience consists
primarily of HR professionals who are interested in the most recent
insights on the subject matter. If deemed truly essential to the
integrity of the article, a short reference list (3-5 items) can be
included at the end of the article under "suggested readings".

To submit an article, please send two copies of your manuscript to:
