Miami Computing and Information Services (MCIS) is announcing the moving
of services from the offices located in Room 22 Hughes, effective
January 3, 1994.
 
Barbara Edwards has moved her office to 343 Gaskill Hall where her
responsibilities have been consolidated as Instructional Computing with
Applied Technologies.  All requests for services on VM/CMS and VAX/VMS
(e.g., class accounts, shared disks, staff/faculty/graduate student
password resets, requests to increase disk space) should continue to be
directed to her in Gaskill at extension 6013.
 
Kathie Robinson has moved to 352 Gaskill Hall, and all of her related
responsibilities have moved as well.  She can be contacted directly at
extension 1242.  The most commonly requested services provided by her
are VM and VMS walk-in account installation, test scoring services,
mainframe client documentation, software distribution (Kermit and anti-
virus software), password resets, and Room 2 Hughes scheduling.
 
The remaining MCIS staff in 22 Hughes will conduct their normal duties
on an appointment basis rather than walk-in.  Services offered at our
Gaskill location will be posted on the door of 22 Hughes as a reminder.
Staff members remaining in 22 Hughes are Tim Gruenhagen, Joe Simpson,
Steve Moore, Lisa Ehrichs, and Jon Patton.  The Hughes Hall computer lab
operations will not change.  The lab consultants will assist in making
appointments for the Hughes staff.
 
The phone number for 22 Hughes, extension 6226, will be answered by a
student secretary who will transfer calls as appropirate.
