Dear Eric,

I'm quite willing to look over the 12 poems on Weds. Or by email before.

David

Subject: Couple O Things

Friends, Colleagues, and Fellow Buckeyes (OMFG),

I hope everyone enjoyed break, feasting, etc.

As promised in subject line, couple O things.

       1) A quick reminder about this Wednesday's department meeting re: Low-Res. I'm hoping everyone will be able to attend.

      2) The grad students have submitted (very few) entries for the AWP Intro Journals award. If possible, I would like a volunteer to judge the prose (total of 4 entries, in two categories, one nominee in each) as well as a volunteer to judge the poetry. We get to nominate 3 poems, not necessarily by the same poet. I think that a total of 12 poems were submitted. I need to send out our nominees by Thursday, so a quick turnaround is in order. I'd be happy to place the entries in your box tomorrow.

      3) We'd discussed, at previous CW meetings, the idea of hosting a Short Forms conference next year, with MU Press possibly printing a collection that comes out of the conference. I still think that's a good idea, and would like to meet early next semester—the first week?--to discuss that and any other matters that someone else would like to bring to the agenda. An early semester meeting is best, I think, since it would be good to have plans in place for a possible festival in order to have a flyer ready to go in time for AWP.

      Cheers,

     E
