As in any project of this magnitude, many individuals have contributed
essential pieces to the design and implementation of Miami University's
Directory Server.

I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank at least a few of those
with whom I've had the pleasure to work on this project over the past
fourteen months since I arrived at Miami and the Directory Server became
part of Miami's CWIS services:
+ Kris Froehlke, Associate Provost for Computing & Information
Services, and Debra Hust Allison, MCIS Assistant Director for
Client Services, who gave me the go-ahead and without whose
enthusiastic support this project would still be just a dream
+ Ken Bogard, University Registrar, Janet Cox, Manager of Academic
Personnel Services, and Suzanne Summers, Associate Vice
President of Finance and Business Affairs, for authorizing the
use of the necessary University data
+ Joe Simpson, MCIS Networking, whose early support and
enthusiasm, helped get things moving a year ago
+ Peter Murray, Library Systems Manager for the Miami University
Libraries, who blazed the trail and has provided much needed
and appreciated feedback and advice along the way
+ John Kinne, Kent Covert and Steve Moore of MCIS Technical
Support, who have literally slaved over hot terminals to
        make the Directory Server possible
+ Bill Miley of MCIS University Information Systems, who has
cheerfully suffered the slings and arrows of myriad requests
to change how the Directory Server receives its data
and finally
+ Rob Pickering, UNIX Support Specialist in MCIS Technical Support,
without whose technical competence, persistence, common sense
and incredible good humor this project might never have reached
        fruition.

Many thanks to these folks and those unnamed who have made it
possible for Miami students, staff and faculty to more easily locate
and communicate with each other.
