MCIS is pleased to announce that the electronic Directory (ph/qi)
returned to service at approximately 11pm on Tuesday, 16 May 1995, and
immediately began responding to queries and processing incoming e-mail
to [log in to unmask] addresses.

As of approximately 11am today (Wednesday, 17 May 1995), the
electronic Directory has approximately 1,200 messages still queued for
delivery to various e-mail platforms at Miami. The vast majority of
those messages are destined for Microsoft Mail addresses on the Oxford
campus, and the MSMail Gateway machine is processing and delivering
incoming mail as fast as it can. It is hoped the MSMail queue may be
finished by tomorrow morning (Thursday, 18 May 1995).

                             *** Please note ***

Anyone who has changed their registered "preferred e-mail address"
during the month of May should immediately check their entry in the
electronic Directory to make sure it points to the correct e-mail address.

       Again,
