Step 1: Type "www" (without quotes)...you should see Miami Root show up
on the screen.  From there, select directories, and then select other
institutions...from there it should be pretty self explanatory.  If
Universite de Liege does not show up in those lists, there probably
an easy way to "lookup" her address, so move on to step 2...
 
Step 2: Call or write to her and give her your email address and have
her email you.  Her address will show up in the From: line of the
message and then you will be able to email her.
 
: 2) How can you communicate in real time with somebody outside MU (TALK or

You'll want to use TALK, because PHONE won't work with most systems.
What you'll need to do is find out if they're on
(finger [log in to unmask]) and then type "talk [log in to unmask]". (the
finger isn't necessary...).  Replace [log in to unmask] with their username
and the address of the machine they are on.
