Make sure you have defined a nameserver in your configuration.  The
university's name servers are at 134.53.253.1 & 134.53.24.2.  This is the
one essential part of the PPP that is not configured for you automatically
by the PPP connection (even though it configures your IP address, subnet
mask, route address, etc. automatically).
