As of today there are 96 off campus ppp modems. I believe the T1 lines
to be stable and there should be no further telephony problems. I'm posting
right now from 523-0003 as evidence.

Barring any problems with logon ids and passwords I hope to see many
successful logins.

I fully expect in the near future that 92930 will cease to exist. To be
replaced, of course, by 3-0003 and the on campus ppp modemsof which i am told
 will be
48 in number. I'm not sure what that phone # will be but someone somewhere
does, probably most any one who reads this group. (This is what I get for
working my way backwards, it seems the phone # is the last item I need.) They
are in the rack waiting for T1 lines.

Those with sharp minds will remember that 200 modems were to be
installed at Miami Oxford. The modem chassis actually come with 48 modems.
Miami purchased 4 for the Oxford Campus. Thats a total of 192 modems. Someone
rounded up. So where are the other 48? For overflow terminal service (95777)
there are 32 modems and for the original PPP modems (92930) there are 16. They
are located on the 4th chassis. 92930 will go away giving those 16 modems back
to 95777 for continued service as the overflow terminal service (vt100
connections) to the mainframes. 95777 is augmenting 92161 and 94999.

That's the way it is.......for now.
