I'll confirm this report from this end of town.  GTE hasn't called me back
to close the call...I wonder if they will...

Sigh, fixed, yes.  But if a $300 charge appears on my phone bill, I'll
be asking for donations from everyone who posted or complained about the
modems!  :-)
