Well, according to the elaborate mythos which has evolved on
alt.devilbunnies over the last 10 (or something like that) years, it is
a superevil, supercute, superintelligent rabbit that likes to eat
people's toes.
 
The group apparently started as an inside joke on some local newsgroup
somewhere a long time ago, and then became a humor group, and now is a
sometimes-humorous sometimes-serious "shared world" writing group.  I
don't think my explanation can do it justice.  You're better off going
