We banded Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th at Springville Marsh in
Carey (Wyandot County NWO). It wasn't a great days for numbers but a nice
variety. Many were likely locals but migrants were present. Including a
good number of warblers. Blackburnian, Canada, Magnolia, Redstart, Common
Yellowthroat, Northern Waterthrush, Nashville, and Ovenbird. Many
hummingbirds, a whole group of flickers (5 in one net at a time), Warbling
vireos, and grackles. And all the regulars. If you are into butterflies,
dragon and damsel flies or wildflowers it is a gem of a site if you haven't
been there before. Next banding isn't until September 15.
