There’s always species to be found. Adams lake state park is a gem of an area.
For both birds and botany. I picked up five Adams species - including Lesser
Scaup - they have been everywhere now. I didn’t have a great variety of
Waterfowl - it definitely seems slow this early spring. To me at least. That
ASO Indiana trip was the exception! Loads of waterfowl. Black Duck, coot we’re
New. RN Ducks, and lots of Wood Duck back. Brown creeper! Yea! A new
County bird. Right there as I started a trail walk. Someday I will get for my
Butler big year! Not too much else passerine wise - Phoebe was nice - but I was
In places looking for plants. I did not find my target plant - Snow Trillium. No
I wasn’t hitting known spots. I like to explore and find mine own. If I try again
Next week though out here, I'll try a know spot!

I was going to try and help relocate the Broad-billed Hummingbird from yesterday
At Prairie Oaks. Good thing I didn’t. It was a hoax. People annoy me. Real pic,
Fake location. Sad that people do this. Thank you for trying all those who
Tried to relocate. A lot of birders were there. And the Boreal Chickadee hasn’t been
Refound. March is migration - it’s probably moved on to Canada.

The Broad billed Hummer was the bird I was chasing as I started back to NJ - my
County even - Cumberland. Back in early Nov. It had left, so I turned northwest
And ended up with Evening Grosbeak for Ohio! Always something out there!

Good birding all. If Tues. is as raw as today, I will stay home and start painting
My basement…. This weather is killing me. I hope the insect eating birds are
Ok.
