The following information was taken from press accounts and has not been
independently verified for accuracy.
Pennsylvania Legislation
House Bill 2458, which would call for the installation of sprinkler systems
in dormitories and Greek housing passed the Pennsylvania House of
Representatives today on a vote of 190 to 1. It now moves to the Senate for
action.
Apartment Fire
Franklin, Massachusetts
An elderly couple and a student from Dean College had to be rescued at an
off-campus apartment fire in Franklin, Massachusetts. The apartment
building, which had eight units, is not affiliated with Dean College.
Several years ago Dean College suffered two dormitory fires, fifteen months
apart, which totally destroyed the two buildings.
