The National Fire Academy at Emmitsburg, MD has good training programs for
fire safety and fire prevention specialists/officers. The Academy's Fire
Prevention: Technical Curriculum especially geared for specialists just
starting in the business, is an excellent program. I believe this
curriculum is beneficial to seasoned FSP's, as well. Another valuable
aspect of going to the Academy is having the opportunity to network with
other fire safety/prevention personnel from all over the USA and the
world. And to top that - training is FREE. It's federally funded (I
guess we all pay for it, I should say).
Further information on the Academy is available on the Internet at:
http://www.usfa.fema.gov
Upon request, the academy will also send you its catalog of courses for
the current fiscal/academic year.
