I think you need to define the term certified. Certified for what? You are
required to be certified to service the equipment as defined in NFPA 72
section 7-1.2.2, but testing can be done by anyone as identified in section
7-1.2.1. Just take a look at what you get from some fire alarm contractors
and you might even question their compliance with section 7-1.2.2.

  I would like to know how many Universities and Colleges on this list have
certified personel that work on and/or test there own fire protection
equipment [i.e. alarms, suppression systems, etc. ]. Any imformation or
advise on this subject would greatly be appreciated.
