Dormitory Fire (update)
Beaumont, Texas
Lamar University

A construction worker has been arrested for setting the two dormitories
under construction on fire, causing $1.9 million in damage.

March 17, 2001
College Fire
Kings Park Junior Campus at St. Albans
Melbourne, Australia

An early morning fire destroyed nearly half of the college, causing $1.5
million (US dollars) in damage.  The fire appeared to have started in the
science rooms and spread through two wings, destroying two classrooms, a
storage area, the school gymnasium, canteen and toilet area
