Delegates: pass this onto your chapter's....there are a few different ways
to get involved so encourage them to ask for more info if they are
interested!

> This year AMSA is hosting a ride for world heath (R4WH) bike tour, we are
> asking that each chapter try and collect donations, spare change, for our
> cause. R4WH benefits those in countries where medical facilities and
> technology is lacking. The Miami chapter is trying to raise funds to
> donate in order to help those suffuring from HIV/AIDS, woman's health
> issues, and poverty and disease. Also we need volunteers to donate their
> time on the day of the race, the race is on APRIL 1st, and runs from 8
> until 5, I know thats a very long time to volunteer and we do not expect
> anyone to volunteer for the entire time, so come for as long as you would
> like. The volunteers will be manning refreshment stands along the bike
> route, basically passing out water to the riders and making sure the
> bikers are following the correct course.

> Basic information on Ride For World Health:
>
> R4WH is a nonprofit organization that was founded by medical students from
> across the nation. In April of 2006, twenty-five medical students and
> physicians will begin a journey of 3,700 miles from San Francisco to
> Washington D.C. carrying a message of education, advocacy, and fundraising
> for global health. This will be accomplished through a coast to coast
> lecture series that will address world health topics including:HIV/AIDS,
> women's health, access to healthcare, and poverty and disease. The
> programming will include international health symposiums at four major
> medical centers, community outreach lectures, fundraising events, and
> solidarity rides.
>

>
> In accordance with our mission, the Miami University AMSA chapter has
> created a solidarity bike ride as part of our goal to raise funds for Ride
> for World Health. Participants will ride in one of four routes for an
> entrance fee of $25.00. The ride will take place on April 1, 2006 in the
> Oxford area. If you are interested in riding in this race you may pick up
> a entry form at BikeWise (uptown)
