OK, R is now installed on the cluster.  I have also installed all of the
requested packages and any other packages they depend on.  They are listed
with their versions at the end of this e-mail.

To use R, you must load the module - "module load R" - note that R must be
capitalized.

There is one feature of R that will only work on local directories - you
can't create "fifo" type files on the Ibrix file system - this is a known
limitation of Ibrix.
