Not sure what kind of launch we're thinking of for the pilot. But perhaps it would be useful to have a pilot launch event and invite David to attend and give a pep talk followed by the first official training session.

Subject: David Goodrum visit offer

All,

The governance committee just met with David Goodrum at IU, who joined

us remotely to discuss their governance process. At the end of the

call, David very generously offered to help us in any way he could,

including coming out to Oxford to meet with people.

David is a super nice and helpful guy, with a ton of experience in the

Sakai community. He is, for example, a prominent member of the

Teaching & Learning Group, and was very involved in the recent "Sakai

Learning Capabilities Lenses" work*, as well as a member of the Sakai

3 Steering Group**.

So I think this is an opportunity we really can't miss. Any ideas of

when we could get him out here, and what we might have him do?

Bruce

** Per earlier note this week, I was curious on how their governance

process engages with Sakai 3 work. It sounds like the connection is

largely him, where he brings use cases and priorities established in

their process for wider consideration. But he mentioned they will be

establishing a group (which I guess is connected to the governance

process) that will engage with Sakai 3 use case and design work more

formally.
