andy et al., i didn't laugh and i did think the ebonics x-mas "joke" was
offensive. not that we need anymore listserve debate, but the ebonics (or
black vernacular english) issue has been very misunderstood. there are
very few tasteful and intelligent ways of joking about a cultural dialect.
