2001 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

If you are, or know, a woman who will be studying engineering or computer science next year, be sure to let her know about SWE's scholarship program. The Society expects to award 121 scholarships totaling $165,000 during the 2000-2001 academic year. (This doesn't include the many scholarships awarded locally, such as the two $300 scholarships that South Ohio gives to the District Science Fair winners.)
Only one application is used for all scholarships. You may obtain an application and brochure from SWE headquarters, from the Sep/Oct 2000 SWE magazine, or download it from SWE's web page as a zipped Word 6 file or .pdf file.
Applications must be submitted together with the supportive materials in one envelope, and be postmarked by February 1, 2001 for sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate school scholarships. For freshmen and re-entry scholarships, the deadline is May 15. All scholarship recipients must enroll in an engineering or computer science curriculum at an ABET or SWE-approved school during the 2001-2002 academic year and will receive their awards in October 2001.
Please pass this information along to students you know who could benefit from this program.
