Hello WIMSE folks!

The next physics department speaker is a BS physics graduate
from Miami University who went to work in the paper industry.

He will present information on a process he invented which is going
through the patent process right now. You might be interested in
coming around to CUller
Hall to hear what he has to say.

Wed. November 5 4 - 5 PM 46 Culler

Mr. Randy McIntosh

"THe little bubble that could...."

Attaching stickies to bubbles is the process for which Mr.
McIntosh is pursuing a patent. In other words, when paper envelopes and
Post-It notes are recycled, the glues need to be removed. This novel
bubble process is capable of removing a high percentage of the unwanted
substances from the slurry before the fibers are reprocessed to make
recycled paper.

Refreshments served preceding the talk (get there by 3:45 PM or the grad
students will have consumed most of the goodies!!!)
