                       10-11: Census Bureau Director Dr. Kenneth Prewitt:
In October Dr. Kenneth Prewitt ("PROO-wit") took over as head of the Census
Bureau and found himself in the middle of a contentious political debate
over the methodology for the next census. Diane talks with Dr. Prewitt
about the census -- its history,  how it's conducted, and how last year's
battle over the next census ended up at the Supreme Court.

                       11-12: William Greider: William Greider (rhymes with
rider) of Rolling Stone Magazine talks about his  new book "Fortress
America" (Public Affairs). It's focused on the American military in the
post-cold  war era, and what he sees as an urgent need for restructuring
and downsizing.
