tribal leaders from around the United States are meeting in Washington to
discuss how this year's appropriations bills may impact Native Americans.
Representatives from two of the country's oldest American Indian
organizations talk about the top legal and legislative issues affecting
their community today.

Congress of American Indians and chairman of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe;
Keith Harper, staff attorney for Native American Rights Fund and member of
the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma
11-12: Thomas Moore: Thomas Moore is the
best-selling author of "Care of the Soul." In his new book, "The Soul of
Sex" (Harper Collins), Moore touches on religion, literature, art and
ritual in discussing the spiritual potential of sex and how it can function
as the basis for a fulfilling life.

of Evil". We'll hear from WALTER MURCH, who helped re-edit the film
according to Welles' wishes. The film was originally released with a
studio-led re-edit that Welles hated.

Facing up to the realities of welfare reform: we'll
visit the Red Lake Reservation, where a tribe of Chippewa Indians live in
Northern Minnesota. Almost half the adults on the reservation are
unemployed. As the nation's welfare system is being reformed, some of
these people have less than 5 years to find jobs before they lose their
benefits...and the reservation is scrambling to make arrangements.
