11-12: Harriett Woods: Harriett Woods, former president of the
National Women's Political Caucus, discusses her book "Stepping Up to
Power" (Westview).  She reviews the political journey American women
have been on over the past fifty years.  She joins Diane to talk
about that journey, about her own experiences in politics, and about
the role women are playing in this Presidential election year.



     Fresh Air with Terry Gross, 12:06-1 p.m.

Thousands of African Americans were publicly lynched in the South.
Often these lynchings were photographed. Terry talks about these
disturbing images with collector James Allen. His photos are
currently on display at the New York Historical Society in an
exhibition titled Without Sanctuary.
