10-11: World Languages: The number of languages spoken across the globe is
falling rapidly.  While some linguists say we should do everything possible
to preserve disappearing languages and cultures, others say there's nothing
wrong with the growing dominance of English. A panel talks about the cycles
that mark language usage and what is being done to preserve endangered
languages.

11-12: Irene Gut Opdyke: As a young woman in Poland during World War Two,
Irene Gut Opdyke ("GOOT" like "foot," "OPP-dike") helped protect Jews from
the Nazis. Although she risked great danger to herself, as the war
progressed, she became bolder and bolder in her acts of resistance. Her
memoir, "In My Hands" (Knopf) is addressed to today's youth.
