Health District and a player guest talk about chair volleyball and its role
in older adult fitness.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
Hour One: Bush & Congress: The morning after President George Bush
outlines his legislative agenda in an address to Congress, a panel talks
about the highlights of his speech, and about how the relationship between
the Bush administration and Capitol Hill has developed since Inauguration
Day. Guests: Norm Ornstein, American Enterprise Institute; Karen Foerstel,
Congressional Quarterly; Charlie Cook, Cook Political Report & National
Journal
Hour Two: Novelist Amy Tan: : Diane talks with Tan, who's best known for
her explorations of mother-daughter relationships, especially within
Chinese-American culture. Her latest novel, "The Bonesetter's Daughter"
(Putnam), is dedicated to her own mother, who passed away two years ago.

Fresh Air (Noon - 1pm)
An on-stage interview recorded with British novelist A.S. BYATT, the best
selling author of the novels "Posession" and "Angels and Insects". She
talks about growing up in a literary family and her passion for
butterflies, cabinets of curiousities and all things Victorian. Her new
book is "The Biographers Tale."

Public Interest (1pm - 2pm)
"Rimbaud: A Biography": 19TH CENTURY FRENCH POET ARTHUR RIMBAUD (ram-bow)
WAS THE FIRST TRUE "REBEL ARTIST." A SAINT, A SINNER, A MADMAN, AN
EXPLORER, A GUNRUNNER, AND A ROMANTIC WHO STILL INSPIRES ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT
ARTISTS TODAY. Guest: Graham Robb, author,"Rimbaud: A Biography" (Pub:
Norton)

Talk of the Nation (2pm - 4pm)
Hour One: PRESIDENT BUSH'S BUDGET PRIORITIES: In his address to a joint
session of Congress, President Bush has outlined what he thinks should be
done with the budget surplus. At the top of his list is a proposal to cut
taxes, but the President also called for some new federal spending and
promised to pay down the national debt.
Hour Two: MIAMI HERALD BALLOT SURVEY: After the presidential election, the
Miami Herald commissioned an independent study of Miami-Dade's undercounted
ballots. The results announced this week found that former Vice President
Al Gore would have gained only 49 votes, not enough to change the outcome
of the disputed Florida election. Is the election debate finally over?

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
Having a father who is a poet, playwright, lawyer, statesman and professor
can be intimidating but William MacLiesh didn't let it bother him. He
remembers his father, Archibald in a new book, "Uphill with Archie"
