        1: Perspectives on the Election: Diane talks with a panel
about the contested U.S. presidential election.  They'll focus on
historical precedents for the current situation, including the
possible consequences for the next Administration. Guests: James
Thurber, American University; Alan Brinkley, Columbia University
        2: Susan Estrich: Susan Estrich can count herself among those
who broke ground for women in the 20th century, as the first female
president of the Harvard Law Review, and the first woman to manage a
presidential campaign.  Now, she looks at the many challenges still
ahead for women in the 21st century, in her new book, "Sex and Power"
(Riverhead).


Fresh Air
        The C-I-A has just released thousands of previously secret
documents detailing its covert operation in Chile, an operation to
de-stabilize the government of Salvador Allende. Terry talks with
PETER KORNBLUH of the National Security Archive, who led the effort
to get the documents released.
