The Diane Rehm Show, 10-12 noon (*2 full hours on WMUB)

Note: Diane has had another voice treatment. The show will have guest
hosts for a period of time while she recovers.

Guest host Jim Angle of FOX News

10-11: Life After Prison: Record-high incarceration rates have kept
lawbreakers off America's streets, but eventually a large number of
people will be released back into the "real world." They may need
guidance in how to return to work, find housing, and operate as
citizens in their communities. A panel talks about life after prison
and programs to help people make the adjustment.
Guests: Reginald Robinson, president of Efforts From
Ex-Convicts (EFEC); Charles Simon, deputy associate attorney general,
U.S. Justice Dept.; Mario Paparozzi, professor of law and justice at
the College of New Jersey and former parole officer

11-12: Jonathan Kozol: Author Jonathan Kozol (CO zahl) has often
written about the South Bronx in his books about children growing up
in poverty. In his new book "Ordinary Resurrections" (Crown), he
turns away from statistics and policy debates, and introduces us to
the children he has met at a local church's after-school program.
He'll talk about the unexpected rewards of his friendships with the
children and others in their community.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross, 12:06-1 p.m.

Memphis singer-songwriter ALEX CHILTON has a new album the old way -
no over-dubs. He and his trio were in a groove and on a whim they
recorded some cover tunes.

For tapes and transcripts of Fresh Air, call Toll-Free 1-(877)-21-FRESH.
