Kathleen,

I have a copy of the 2005 edition of Honegger's "English Grammar for
Writing" and I like it because the author uses tree structures in the
sentence diagramming rather than Reed-Kellogg diagrams. If you call
the publisher (Houghton Mifflin Company)they may be able to tell you
if they have plans to publish a new edition of the same book soon.

You might want to review two other grammar textbooks,"The Essentials
of English - A Writer's Handbook" by Ann Hogue (Longman, 2003),
and "English Grammar in Context" by Kitty Chen Dean (Longman,
2001). These textbooks (which I have) seem to be more accessible for
students who take an introduction to English grammar like ENG 250.
